Practicum Highlight: Kerrie Verbeek MPH ’26
Through her Integrated Learning Experience (ILE), Kerrie Verbeek, an Online Hybrid MPH candidate at Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine, is working to address food insecurity in oncology care. In partnership with Healing Harvest, a food pantry based at the Dartmouth Cancer Center, Kerrie’s work focuses on improving how providers identify and support cancer patients facing barriers to accessing nutrition.

MaryBeth Semosky, a second year Hybrid Master of Public Health student at the Geisel School of Medicine, is pursuing her degree while working full-time on epidemiological research focused on the environmental impacts on maternal and children’s health. Through her Integrated Learning Experience (ILE), she is exploring how community engagement can be leveraged to improve health service utilization in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).

The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth recently welcomed prospective and admitted students to its Spring Health Sciences Education Virtual Open House, a one-hour event designed to further introduce attendees to Geisel’s graduate programs in public health and health sciences. The session brought together admissions representatives, faculty, current students, and alumni from across Geisel for an overview of the program offerings and student experience.

Geisel Students Deliver Strong Performance at National Data Health Science Case Competition
Students from the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth delivered a strong showing at the 7th Annual Big Data Health Science Case Competition, held virtually February 6–8, 2026, ahead of the National Big Data Health Science Conference. In its seventh year, the competition attracted 32 teams from 17 universities across the United States. Geisel entered six teams and, for the third time in four years, placed among the top five finalists.
