Hybrid MPH Class of 2024 Applied Practice Experience Poster Fair & Celebration
On Wednesday, December 6th, Dartmouth will host its annual in-person poster fair for the 2024 MPH candidates in the Online/On-Campus Hybrid program who are completing their coursework's Applied Practice Experience (APE) component. As a required experiential learning component for MPH degree students, the Applied Practice Experience provides planned, guided opportunities for students to apply the knowledge and skills gained in public health coursework in real-world public health, population health, or health-related settings. With research completed in partnership with various organizations, presentation topics range from intersex data collection and best practices in US healthcare settings to oncology patients in a rural academic center and beyond. Forty-one members of the class of 2024 will gather to present.
The poster fair is a Dartmouth Online/Hybrid MPH tradition and celebrates our students. The event, held in the Class of 1953 Commons in Hanover, NH, near Dartmouth's campus, allows the MPH cohort to showcase and discuss their research with attendees.
"The breadth of public health impact our students made this year through their Applied Practice Experience placements is incredible. From enhancing the management of zoonotic disease to improving the provision of behavioral health care to providing more equitable care for intersex individuals – it's inspiring to think about the collective impact of their hard work. These are real, tangible improvements to public health and health care that they are making. It's so rewarding to be a small part of this process with them."
- Dr. Meghan Longacre, a director for Dartmouth's practicum series of courses and a mentor to many students.
From 5 PM - 730 PM Eastern, talk with the 41 members of the Class of 2024 about their APE, including the following:
