Discover Dartmouth's New Health Sciences Master's Degrees
Dartmouth now offers three new MS degrees related to public health in Epidemiology, Health Data Science, and Medical Informatics, with the application open and classes starting in 2024.
Epidemiology is a rapidly growing field in public health, with many new jobs in biomedical research and non-profit organizations. Dartmouth’s MS in Epidemiology focuses on the study and distribution of disease. In addition to teaching students the foundational concepts of identifying health hazards and patterns of disease, Dartmouth’s Epidemiology degree program will emphasize quantitative skills in biostatistics and informatics.
Another rapidly expanding field in public health is Health Data Science. Dartmouth’s MS in Health Data Science aims to educate students on biostatistics, data visualization, wrangling, and machine learning. At Dartmouth, students will learn to create complex models to analyze health interventions, including predicting disease outcomes and evaluating treatment plans.
To prepare students to meet current challenges in public health, Dartmouth’s MS in Medical Informatics emphasizes a multi-disciplinary approach at the intersection of information science, data science, biostatistics, and healthcare. Dartmouth’s students will be provided with foundational training in data science, biostatistics, and epidemiology and students will be taught analysis skills necessary for implementing new treatments and technologies in clinical and research settings.
Each of Dartmouth’s MS degree programs allows students to earn their degree in 12-15 months. The degrees will be granted through Dartmouth's Geisel School of Medicine. Applications are now open for interested students to apply to any of Dartmouth’s MS programs through SOPHAS. Click here to apply now!
