The thought leadership you will find there is driven by a lineup of health tech experts that includes Dartmouth Institute’s own Jennifer Esposito, vice president of health at Magic Leap. Along with peer leaders from places like Google, Fitbit, CVS Health, 23andMe, Esposito brings her insight to the national stage to influence conversations on how artificial intelligence and other technologies can change healthcare delivery for the better. 

It was the Institute’s training in epidemiology and research methods, and her class work on Lean Six Sigma projects within the department of radiology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock, that set Esposito on her career in healthcare and technology.

After graduation, she went on to lead the service maintenance business for the interventional radiology and cardiology product line at GE Healthcare. There she pioneered the use of predictive analytics and IoT (internet of things) to diagnose potential problems that could cause medical equipment to malfunction and fix issues ahead of time.

“It fundamentally changed how we delivered service for that product line and helped the engineering team to build better products for the future and correct issues more quickly,” 

“It all really goes back to The Dartmouth Institute and learning the core methodology that the Institute teaches of how to use data to drive solutions and understand root cause,” she says.

Esposito holds a patent for creating a system that uses machine and medical imaging data to track and optimize radiation dose in interventional radiology and cardiology. She is a fervent believer that advances in technology can help improve the quality of care and reduce costs. “AI will augment, not replace, providers, and will provide actionable data that can help create more meaningful patient-provider interactions,” Esposito wrote in an op-ed for U.S. News & World Report. 

In addition to her role today a Magic Health, Esposito also advises start-up companies focused on digital health, biotechnology, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence. She is active in policy initiatives on improving global health security and digital health, and co-chairs the Global Health Security Agenda Private Sector Roundtable.
