Capstone IMPACT Project
Each student in the online MS in Implementation Science program will complete a Capstone IMPACT Project (1.0 unit) that spans the entire course.
The Capstone IMPACT project combines aspects of a master’s thesis and internship. Students develop and execute their own individual Capstone IMPACT project with faculty support.
The Capstone course runs for nine months, concurrent with the program’s other coursework. Part-time students enroll in the Capstone course during their second year of study.
Students produce an academic product (e.g., a publishable paper or grant proposal) and present their final work to program faculty and their cohort. The Capstone IMPACT project enables students to take a deep dive into an area of interest and apply methods and skills learned in the program to a real-world challenge.
IMPACT project examples:
- Research Proposal
- Research Project (students MUST have access to their own participants/data, as this will not be provided. This may require IRB).
- Coursework Portfolio
- Systematic Literature Review (meta-analysis/scoping review) of a topic in Implementation Science of interest to the student
- Mock Implementation Plan
