"I love Dartmouth... There’s a unique spirit there. It’s very diverse in its approach to healthcare improvement and education. You are exposed to multiple perspectives: For every concept presented to you, they also give the counterargument, allowing you to come to your own conclusions and make your own decisions."
Lead the future of Implementation Science
Bring Best Practices into the Real World
Implementation science is the application of methods to promote the adoption of evidence-based strategies into real-world settings. Training in implementation science provides actionable strategies, tools, and support to ensure the successful adoption of evidence-based practices, interventions, and policies on the front lines while empowering teams to integrate evidence-based interventions into daily operations, driving meaningful and measurable outcomes.
Dartmouth's comprehensive nine-month fully online MS in Implementation Science is at the vanguard of in-depth implementation science training. Implementation science is a rapidly growing field with robust government investment and industry interest that addresses the lag between the emergence of best practices in scientific research and the widespread practical application of those practices.
Students in the MS in Implementation Science program learn from leaders at the forefront of the dissemination and implementation science field, including Dartmouth faculty and other national experts.
As one of the first implementation science master’s programs in the United States, our program addresses an essential and growing need for robust implementation science training for the academic and professional workforce. The program provides rigorous training in dissemination and implementation science, including theory, methods, and practical applications, as well as essential project management, collaboration, and leadership skills. Graduates will be equipped to apply these skills in a broad range of disciplines and communities throughout the country and the world.
Implementation Science Online Degree Requirements
Dartmouth’s online MS in Implementation Science degree challenges students to think critically across a wide range of courses that build an unparalleled knowledge base in implementation science theory, quantitative and qualitative methods, and applied practice.
Students take a set of foundational core courses with opportunities for further exploration via the Capstone IMPACT Project and an optional annual in-person symposium. In a cohort of around 30 peers, students complete this fully online MS Implementation Science degree in 9 months (accelerated, full-time), taking two courses at a time or 18 months (traditional, part-time), taking 1 course at a time.
