Program Highlights
Health data science is the science of data related to health systems, processes, and outcomes. Training in health data science is crucial to address the many complex challenges within the biomedical, biobehavioral, public health, and clinical care sectors. The Dartmouth MS in Health Data Science program mixes theory with application to provide training in programming, biostatistics, machine learning and AI to wrangle, analyze, and interpret the complex data encountered within health data science fields. Program content addresses the computational challenges faced, including working with structured and unstructured data, intensively collected data, big data, imaging data, omics, and more. Graduates are prepared to immediately contribute as a health data scientist within multiple sectors, including biomedical research, pharmaceutical industries, government, non-profits, healthcare delivery, academia, and more. Importantly, graduates are prepared to serve as leaders, capable of understanding the context and implications of their decisions.
